Programs

The Genesee Career Institute (GCI) provides students with instruction and hands-on learning in high-wage, high-demand programs that help prepare them for immediate entry into the workforce upon completion of their program, or entry into a college-level program. GCI courses are available to Genesee County students in grades 11-13, except for the JROTC and CTE Experience courses which are available to grades 9-13. Take a Virtual Tour of GCI!

At GCI, students have access to the following opportunities:

  • Gain knowledge and skills for chosen field

  • Development of marketable skills for immediate employment

  • Articulated college credit at a variety of recognized colleges and trade schools

  • Industry recognized certification testing and credentials

  • Internship placement and work-based learning opportunities

  • Participation in Career Technical Student Organization competitions

  • Job placement assistance

  • College and business field trips, guest lecturers, and volunteer projects

  • Transportation may be provided

  • Some programs offer an Early Middle College option

  • Junior completers may return for a senior year of advanced studies with internship placement

Programs are available for juniors and seniors in high school. JROTC and CTE Experience are available for grades 9-12.
