How to Enroll
First, explore the Genesee Career Institute (GCI) programs to find a program that's the right fit for you! Most GCI classes are 11th and 12th Grade students. The next steps are:
- Contact your high school counselor to express your interest and obtain an application to enroll.
- Complete the application to attend the Genesee Career Institute.
- Return the completed application to your high school counselor on time.
- Local schools are allotted seats for GCI programs and they determine which students are selected based on their criteria.

There is no set GPA requirement to attend GCI. School counselors place students based on their potential career interest. Most will ask that students be caught up with their credits, have good attendance and good behavior. Each school has a designated number of student allotments for programs/sessions.
Alternative School Students - Alternative Students are eligible to apply during regular spring registration, contact your counselor for an application. Alternative schools must use seats provided to their home districts.
Private School Students - Contact your local counselor to apply. Available seats are open in Mid-April for the coming school year.
