Hoist a car and diagnose and repair problems with the brakes, electrical system, engine, steering, and suspension

Mount tires on rims and repair flats, change oil and filters, and work on transmissions, heating, and air conditioning systems
Advanced studies in Automotive Technology for second-year students include a greater emphasis on methods of repair and service procedures including working in the GCI Auto Repair Lab. During the year, the students will work in groups and practice many diagnostic and repair procedures.

Prepare to pass the private pilot knowledge test by learning from trained pilots

Visit airports, air traffic control towers, and air museums

Practice on a flight simulator
Advanced studies in Aviation Academy for second-year students include work for both manned and unmanned aviation and will prepare students to take two FAA tests: The Private Pilot Knowledge Test and/or the Drone Remote Pilot Knowledge Test. Topics include pre-flight procedures, airspace, radio communications, drone operation, and more.

Medium/Heavy Duty Technician (Diesel Mechanics)

Repair diesel engines and other systems on large vehicles, such as air brakes, hydraulics, suspension, and electrical

Operate and perform maintenance on construction equipment, such as a dozer, backhoe, and forklift
Advanced studies in Medium/Heavy Duty Technician for second-year students include further work in NATEF standards for brakes (air and hydraulic), suspension and steering systems, diesel engines, electrical systems, and preventative maintenance inspection.
